Timeless platform showcasing a Persian silk carpet linked to a digital provenance certificate

Project overview

Timeless is a digital provenance platform designed to safeguard the identity, story, and economic value of handcrafted Persian art—from silk carpets to inlaid backgammon boards. Each piece receives a durable NFC/QR tag that resolves to a verifiable, tamper-evident record combining origin details, artisan credits, materials, and high-fidelity media.

Built with a modern web stack (Next.js + Node.js/TypeScript) and a clean separation of concerns, Timeless enables galleries, artisans, and collectors to issue, transfer, and verify digital certificates. The system supports multilingual storytelling, media-rich narratives, and optional on-chain attestations for high-value pieces.

The result is trust at every step: origin is documented, authenticity is inspectable, and ownership transitions can be tracked—empowering buyers while unlocking export-grade integrity for cultural heritage goods.

Client challenges & requirements

Protecting cultural assets at scale requires reliable identity for physical items, verifiable provenance for digital twins, and a storytelling layer that travels with the object.

  • Robust linking between a physical artifact and its digital record without compromising privacy or usability.
  • Media-rich, multilingual narratives (EN/FA/…) that render fast on global networks and low-power devices.
  • Interoperable signatures/attestations for marketplaces, wallets, and institutional archives.

Project solution

We designed a layered architecture: physical tags (NFC/QR) connect to signed records; an admin CMS curates media and metadata; and verifiers can check authenticity online or offline. Optional on-chain attestations anchor high-value claims. The platform favors clean APIs, testable modules, and audit-friendly logs.
